AMAC Aerospace has completed a head of state Gulfstream G650 project ahead of schedule and has added new maintenance contracts at its Basel headquarters for Boeing 737s, an A318 and a B747. An Airbus A340 was also successful redelivered after a C-check in Basel, while an Airbus A320 in Europe in need of AOG support was released on the same day.

The G650 was delivered to AMAC Aerospace in Basel from the OEM at the end of 2018. The aircraft underwent a major modification and has been redelivered ahead of schedule. The customer, who came to Basel with an official delegation to take the aircraft, was happy with the work.

A new contract has also been signed between AMAC Aerospace and a customer from the Middle East. An Airbus A318 will arrive by the middle of March and AMAC will carry out a heavy base maintenance C-check at short notice.

Additionally, a contract has been signed for a base maintenance input on a Boeing B747 for a Far East-based customer and a BBJ Boeing 737 deal has also been inked. The B737 is scheduled to arrive in June and will undergo a partial cabin interior refurbishment. AMAC will install new high definition monitors, screens and switch panels onboard. Based on an existing STC, a Ka-band system will be installed on the B737 aircraft, offering broadband connection to use internet services as seamlessly as on the ground. An updated IFE system will be installed on the BBJ to provide wireless streaming on all passenger devices, such as iPads and laptops.

“We are well-known for our Ka-band installations and are proud to install the system on the Boeing B737,” says director of completion sales Eric Hoegen. “We are delighted to provide our customer the best connectivity in the air that is currently available on the market.”
